Welcome to Pecan Lodge, a renowned BBQ joint in Dallas that has gained a solid reputation for its mouth-watering meats and delicious sides. Located in an older part of town, this Filipino-International Grocery offers a casual dining experience with amenities like reservations, Wi-Fi, and TV. While the prices may seem a bit high, the quality of the food more than makes up for it.
Customer reviews rave about the brisket, pulled pork, and jalapeño cheddar sausage, all of which are cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The mac and cheese and banana pudding also receive high praise for their creamy and decadent textures.
One standout dish is the sliced brisket sandwich, which is described as smokey, flavorful, and incredibly moist. The meat practically melts in your mouth, making it well worth the price tag. And if you're a fan of traditional BBQ sides, the collard greens and Mac and cheese are a must-try.

I heard this place was a must-try so I made it my first dinner stop on my trip to Dallas. It was a Wednesday night and the place was pretty empty. We ordered at the counter and our food was ready the second we found a spot to sit. We split a combo plate with brisket, pulled pork, and pork sausage and a side of mac and cheese (added another side of cole slaw). It was plenty of food for two people. The brisket was alright but the pulled pork and pork sausage were the real stars. The cole slaw had a slight kick and the mac and cheese was also good. Overall good food but nothing show stopping in my opinion.

This famous Dallas BBQ hosted me for lunch yesterday. It's in an older part of town with many other restaurant and bars. The only parking option I could see was on the street. Pecan Lodge clearly notifies you by several sign that they are a no cash restaurant. At the counter, I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich ($16) and an order of pinto beans for $5.50. Soft drinks are $3.50. Total w/tax was $27.06. The food took less than 10 minutes to be ready. I was a little taken aback by the prices. $16 for a sandwich and especially $5.50 for a side dish of beans. However, the sandwich was huge with more meat on it than I expected. The brisket was smokey, very flavorful and very moist. In fact, the meat melted in my mouth like butter. Paired on a nice brioche bun, I must say it was worth the price. The beans were pinto with some brisket added and were more average taste wise. To me, these types of beans lack the robust flavor of other varieties that I have had. Add to that a side dish for $5.50 is in my mind too expensive. I understand meat prices are high but beans? I believe Pecan Lodge is the quality BBQ restaurant that deserves its reputation. Next time, I would probably try another side dish though.

Solid four stars. Could have been five stars but you severed the burnt ends cold. For the prices you pay here you must have your quality up to a high standard. You cannot serve cold burnt ends. Food: the food was great. The jalapeno sausage was very good. The burnt ends were great however they were cold. The Brisket was good. I asked for fatty and it was full of flavor and a nice char on the bark. The Mac and cheese is probably the best Mac n cheese I've ever had. It was simply amazing and actually the best part of the meal. Top notch Mac and cheese. I should have gotten the banana pudding. Next time. The customer service is great. The lady working the front desk was really nice. I'll definitely come back soon.

Pecan Lodge was recommended to me by a friend, and I am really happy we paid a visit. The brisket was amazingly soft cutting into it. It was very tender with the natural juices oozing out of it with every bite, but I did find it a bit too fatty. The pulled pork was really good, maybe a bit dry but with the barbecue sauce it tasted great. My main critiques go to the coleslaw and collard greens. Normally at barbecue restaurants you expect the coleslaw to be light and refreshing to balance out the meal. But at Pecan Lodge the coleslaw was actually very spicy. I feel like the dressing and the spice in the coleslaw didn't complement the meats, and it made the meal feel a lot heavier. The collard greens were really good, but after 5 bites I felt like I had enough of it due to the sauce they put on it. It was too sweet. All things considered, although I wouldn't necessarily say it is the best barbecue I've ever had, it certainly does make it to the top of my list. But just like every place you go to, there is room for improvement

WOW! I may have found the best bbq I've ever had. While visiting Dallas we stopped here for lunch. They had a great menu with reasonable prices. We ended up sharing a few things and everything was a hit. The bbq was fresh and delicious with a ton of flavor. I loved their vinegar sauce as well. I wish I brought some bbq back to NC with me!

Dallasites have strong opinions on local BBQ joints, but in my polling Pecan Lodge consistently came up as a top 3 place, and #1 for brisket. As someone whose Dallas BBQ experience til now consisted of Terry Blacks and Lockhart I'd agree with both assessments. What set Pecan Lodge apart, however, was their customer service. My Girlfriend ordered one link of jalapeño cheddar sausage but was told after the order was placed that they'd just run out. Instead of substituting it for a link of standard sausage, they gave us 3 links of standard sausage and tipped the scale on our brisket and pulled pork to give us about 1.25 pounds each instead of 1 pound. The brisket was phenomenal, better than any BBQ place I've ever tried. The sausage was also my favorite ever, and the pulled pork was top notch (But, in my opinion, just behind Terry Blacks). The potato salad was amazing, about equal to Terry Blacks, and the only menu item lacking was the Mac & Cheese, which wasn't anything to write home about. The surrounding neighborhood is awesome too, Deep Ellum has a lot of uniquely Dallas character in a way that other "cute" neighborhoods like Bishop Arts District don't. I'll definitely be back to Pecan Lodge to try more menu items and explore the area!

Had to get some bbq while I was in Dallas and so happy I got to try Pecan Lodge! It's in a touristy area with lots of shops but surprisingly was not too busy when I got there around lunch time. You go through a line to order and then sit down. It was such a nice day so I had to go for the outdoor seating. They have a lot of tables indoors and outdoors. If you do venture outdoors just beware of birds (I did see a bird pooing on a tree a bit very close to another table ) and some pigeons who are not afraid to come over to try to take your food! The brisket was on the lean and drier side. They offered two types of sauces- one was regular Bbq sauce and the other was a spicy bbq. I really enjoyed the regular bbq with the brisket because the spicy one was slightly too runny. The pork ribs were delicious. Cooked perfectly tender and not too salty, which is what a usually find about bbq places. The sides were also really good! Mac and cheese was creamy and had some small veggies and bacon in it, while the potato salad was hearty and refreshing. Also, the pickles and onions they give on the side were such a refreshing combo with the meat! If you're into peaches, don't miss out on the peach cobbler because it's packed with peach slices. Warm, sweet, and covered with a crumbly crust, this is the definition of comfort food. Prices were to be expected of a well known bbq joint and the portion for sides was very big, so I definitely had some left overs. They have lots of containers to go so you can take them with you to enjoy later! While there aren't servers, there is staff that are very efficient with cleaning up the tables. They did have a parking lot but you have to pay for parking since it is a touristy area. They have lots of shops and other places to look at on the street so it's a fun area to check out in Dallas!

The food here was excellent. I'm in Dallas for work and it was suggested to me by two different people. You get in line and order, then take a seat, then they'll call your number and name - which was rather loud (and continued throughout my whole dining experience). I ordered a two meat plate with one side and in retrospect it was way too much food; I had pork ribs, brisket, fried okra, pickles, and I ordered a side of peach cobbler. As is a hazard of dining by myself, I had to use the bathroom but wasn't done with my meal, so I left a note saying please don't take the tray. I came back and sure enough, the tray was still there, but all of my food was gone. I had mostly finished what I wanted to eat at that point but I was still working on the cobbler. I went up to the cashier and they were willing to replace everything, but I said I just wanted to finish my cobbler, so they gave me a huge order of it to go. Right before I left the restaurant, I used the restroom again and left the cobbler at the table (not intending on finishing it/bringing it home with me) and sure enough when I got back, I was gone. I guess they're just fast at cleaning tables. The ribs and the brisket were so tender that you didn't really need a fork for them. The ribs were perfectly seasoned as-is, and I tried out both sauces for the brisket. Overall I would come back here if I'm ever in Dallas again, as the food was very good.

My husband cousin highly recommended this place, so we went to try on the first day of our trip. And wow kid you not, he's right, the best barbecue ever. I ordered a combo meal, brisket with jalapeño cheddar sausage and Mac and cheese. My husband got ribs. The brisket is my favorite part, the meat literally melt in your mouth. It looked rough for me but oh my it's not!! It's the juiciest meat ever, and there are some fatty part to make the whole thing perfect. I highly recommend to add the barbecue sauce they have. It make your meat tasted better and add more seasoning to it. We sat outside, and there were many birds and pigeons out here waiting for your food!
